Prayer is the second and important pillar of Islam. Prayer is the connection between Muslims and God (Allah). Every Muslim must offer five daily prayers. Before prayer, a Muslim perform wudu (ablution) to purify his body and clothes as he is going to stand before Allah the Almighty.
About prayer and its importance in Islam, we read in the Quran what means:
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or [lying] on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish [regular] prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times. (An-Nisaa 4:103)
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]. (Al-Baqarah 2:43)
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do. (Al-Ankabut 29:45)
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger Those – Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. (At-Tawbah 9:71)
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (Al-Baqarah 2:277)
